It is an honor for us to welcome the American artist and designer, Michael Singer to a work in progress exhibition in YARD gallery, March 20 – 25. The workshop, called “The edge” will take place in YARD gallery and at the site next door to the gallery at the old Burmeister & Wain shipyard. The site is where the Refshale Island connects to Copenhagen harbor.
The goal of the workshop is to demonstrate the potential interactions between nature, human systems, environmental sustainability and functional necessities. Singer has worked extensively with urban sites all over the world, and he views this dynamic interface as a primary place to ask the question, “How can we live with what sustains us?”.
Singer + crew will work in the gallery every day during the workshop. And at the exhibition March 25, we are proud to welcome guest speaker Organic farmer, chairman and founder of Aarstiderne (the seasons), BalckCarbon and GreenCarbon, Thomas Harttung and Dr. Phil and former rector of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Else Marie Bukdahl.
